This week we are delighted to announce that John Shapland (CEng FIMechE) has joined the Garland Team as our Principal Design Engineer.
John is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and has been developing orthopaedic implants and instrumentation for over 22 years. With a Master’s degree in Medical and Life Sciences Engineering, he has designed devices for total hip, knee, and ankle replacement, as well as trauma nails, plates and screws. John’s understanding of the orthopaedic device development process, and his ability to translate user needs into innovative solutions, will be critical as we deliver the MaltaHip to the market.
